IN evolution to support mobility in DECT access networks

This paper presents the solution given by the AC013 EXODUS European project to the problem of full terminal and personal mobility provision. First by means of IN, the EXODUS projects tracks a possible way to get the foreseen world of UMTS (Universal Mobile Telecommunication System), from a fixed network perspective. A brief introduction to the actual trends of the telecommunication world is given, then the DECT radio interface which is the one chosen by EXODUS is described. The description of the EXODUS network implementation is fully detailed, and the foreseen evolution towards UMTS presented.
