Abstract
This paper describes HAL's PCI Mercury Interface (PMI) cluster network interface card for its Mercury interconnect. Note: “Mercury” is an internal HAL code name for this interconnect and will not be used on any released product. The PMI card operates in any legitimate PCI 2.1 [4], platform 0–66 MHz, 32-bit or 64-bit address/ data widths, and either 3.3v or 5v IO. The PMI requires no additional functionality beyond the PCI specification. The services provided are local to remote chained DMA, messaging, remote memory atomic operations, and barrier.
