Zusammenfassung

In der Biochemie ist in den letzten Jahren die Anwendung der Isotopen stark in den Vordergrund getreten. Ohne dieses Hilfsmittel hätte man z. B. die Photosynthèse oder die Bildungsweise und den Stoffwechsel einzelner Verbindungen gar nicht aufklären können. Dagegen war es in der organischen Chemie auch mit den klassischen Methoden noch möglich, die Forschung erheblich voranzutreiben. Doch sind auch hier schon, wie im folgenden gezeigt wird, mit Hilfe der Isotopentechnik wesentliche Erkenntnisse gewonnen worden (8), (18), (177), (181), (206).
