Abstract

The paper deals with an application of multicriteria optimization to optimum structural design. A brief formulation of multicriteria optimization problem is presented. The paper contains two examples. The first example is concerned with application of utility function in optimum design of prestressed concrete I beam. The second example illustrates the application of metric function in izostatic truss optimization. Both, the compromise and preferable solutions are founded.
