Abstract

This article presents a computer application (SARE) which responds to a new concept, called the “Authoring Systems for Specific Educational Targets (SAFEE)”. Programs developed under this concept try to fill up the empty space that, according to the authors, exists in the field of Information Technologies (I.T.) applied to teaching. Until now, teachers trying to use any Computer Aided Learning programs (CAL) had only two alternatives: using closed programs with all the disadvantages it involves, or developing their own applications, which requires much more sophisticated computer skills. The authors present an intermediate solution: An Authoring System for a Specific Educational Target.
