A set of tools supporting the software design based on SDL

Abstract

A set of tools is presented, which supports the design of software systems based on signal interchange. A system to be developed is described by graphical methods of SDL (Specification and Description Language), such as block, tree or process diagrams and sequence charts. The information brought in by graphics is available to further tools for validation and generation of target codes. To get information about the dynamic behaviour of a specified system, a simulation system is provided and the SDL specification is transformed into a simulation model.
