Software process validation based on FUNSOFT nets

Abstract

This position paper motivates briefly why software process simulation is a promising branch of software process model analysis. It explains how different branches of software process model analysis complement each other. The software process simulation facilities discussed in this paper are based on FUNSOFT nets, which is a Petri net type that is particularly adapted to the requirements for software process modeling languages. The proposed simulation facilities are implemented in the software process management environment MELMAC.
