Abstract

The health care scenario offers a superset of security and security management requirements of various RACE application pilot scenarios and is therefore well suited to form the testbed for the application of security services and their management. This aspect of security services management is examined in the RACE II project SAMSON (Security and Management Services in Open Networks). It is demonstrated, how IBC applications — namely electronically based information storage and retrieval systems — can provide appropriate security levels, and furthermore, that it is possible to build such a system using existing teleworking, security and management services conforming to open architectures.
