Abstract

This article presents a new tool: symbolic computation, used for the generation of dynamic equations for poly-articulated flexible structure. We begin with a presentation of the formulation used and of the modelling of flexible bodies. Then the capabilities of the symbolic computation software: GEMMES are presented, and we describe some examples of space structures analyzed using GEMMES. Advantages of such method on pure numerical ones are emphasized.
