Abstract

The struggle for emancipation of Dalits from the quagmire of casteism and untouchability has been present for a long time. Dalit problem has been with us as an existential social reality. Several social reformers and concerned academics, both Dalit and non-Dalit, have tried their best to eradicate untouchability from the social fabric. The Dalit liberation movement has steadily became vocal, assertive and effective throughout India.
