Abstract
Readiness and human flexibility have become driving forces to survive in the volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous (VUCA) world. Based on change readiness theory, the purpose of the present chapter is to investigate the mediating role of learning through experimentation between planfulness and readiness for change. The sample was collected from 270 full-time employees working in the manufacturing and IT service industries in North India. Structural equation modeling and regression analysis indicated that the intervening variable, i.e., learning through experimentation mediates the impact of planfulness on readiness for change. Theoretically, the present chapter contributes to change readiness scholarship, as little attention has been given to testing the association between planfulness and readiness for change empirically. Practically, the present chapter provides insights for the change agents who continuously strive to bring successful change in the organization.
