Abstract

The recent high incidence of violence in school sports clubs has sparked a debate about whether corporal punishment is right or wrong. Many people believe that corporal punishment is wrong, but there are some who argue that it is necessary to teach rules and discipline. I think both sides have a point, but the reason the debate never becomes constructive is because ‘corporal punishment’ itself does not really exist.
