Abstract
Catheter-based interventions can be an alternative to additional surgery when there is a remaining shunt or defect following certain congenital heart surgeries. Reoperating on these residual defect or shunt carries increased risks and mortality rates. Unlike typical defect or shunt, postoperative residual defect or shunt often exhibits morphological irregularities. These irregularities can make it challenging to determine the diameter of the remaining defect or shunt and difficult in selecting the appropriate device for transcatheter procedure.
