Abstract
A vast variety of animals can be encountered on the seashore. These marine animals are often taxonomically, morphologically, physiologically, and ecologically different from terrestrial animals. Representatives of almost all phyla can be found on the seashore, and most of these can be found in the Noto area. Here, we will explain the main morphological and taxonomical characteristics of the phyla living on the seashore, and we include descriptions at the class and order level for some important phyla. Thus, this handbook represents an outline on the main phyla living on the seashore of Noto.
