Abstract

One of the key initiatives of China's reform and opening up is the construction of a free trade port in Hainan. The years 2021 to 2025 will be crucial for the quickening of the development of Hainan's logistics sector and the construction of the free trade port. Hainan Free Trade Port has recently implemented a number of policies conducive to the growth of the logistics sector, including zero tariffs and free, efficient transportation. In 2021, the demand for Hainan Free Trade Port's logistics grew significantly, construction of the transportation and logistics infrastructure was accelerated, while the capacity of logistics services continuously increased. Overall, the modern logistics sector in Hainan is still in its early stages of growth, but in the future, Hainan will be China's free trade port with the highest degree of openness, developing into an important logistics hub between China and the rest of the world, particularly the ASEAN area.
