Abstract
Being a very successful surgical procedure, the number of total hip replacement surgeries has been on the rise and is expected to further increase with time. As the absolute number of procedures increases, so would the number of revision hip arthroplasty increase. Removal of a well-fixed femoral stem can turn into a nightmare for any experienced surgeon if it is not well planned and not dealt with adequate armamentarium during surgery. This chapter aims to help surgeons in how to anticipate the potential difficulties one might have to face during removal of femoral stem and how to effectively deal with them.
