The Change of Climate and Ecological Environment in China 2021: Synthesis Report

Abstract

Since 1900, the mean surface temperature in China has increased significantly, and the atmosphere, hydrosphere, cryosphere and ecosystem, etc., have all shown obvious but regionally different changes. Starting from Climate and Environmental Evolution in China: 2012, observational data and research evidence have become increasingly abundant, which further confirms the core conclusions of the past assessments of China’s climate and environmental change during the observed period under the background of global warming, and also further confirms that human activities are the main cause for the climate warming and environmental change in China since the mid-20th Century.
