Abstract
The technology sector is going to produce new and different experts. These will include, but not limited to coding, technical development, artificial intelligence systems and infrastructure, robotics, critical and quantum technologies. Therefore, specialist experts are likely to be used during an arbitration. There may in fact be different experts required, to address issues related to the different sectors and cycles of the digital economy. That is, an expert in storage retention technology may have no expertise in coding. The role of experts in arbitration will be complex and challenging. This will particularly be the case where experts are drawn from the same entity, which may pose a conflict of interest. This chapter explores briefly some of the issues related to the use of experts in arbitration within the digital economy. It is anther area of vigilance for practitioners.
