Abstract
Humanity’s footprint on our planet can no longer be ignored. We are in the Age of the Anthropocene, where human impact is the largest force determining the fate of life on Earth. Our species has succeeded in co-opting Earth’s resources for our own needs and desires, to the detriment of the planetary systems that sustain us and the whole Earth community. Direct impacts include the interconnected crises of climate change, biodiversity loss, desertification, pollution and declining soil fertility.
