Abstract

In this chapter, we study the application of self-expression based subset selection method in cluster multi-task learning. Multitasking learning aims to learn multiple tasks together by sharing information among related tasks, which can improve the generalization performance of different tasks. Although multitasking has been shown to yield performance gains compared to single-tasking learning, the major challenge of learning which features to share with which tasks is still not fully addressed.
