Abstract
Building Information Modeling (BIM) is altering the avenue of operation and construction field works due to which, builders are enforcing BIM in their process of construction while, the utilization of BIM by facility managers is still inconsistent and uncommon. The exploration attempted in this research identifies the gaps in the utilization of BIM by Facility managers. It explores how facility managers and BIM can add advantage, considering the procedure from construction to operation, by arriving and attempting the best value throughout the process by analyzing the both, those who use BIM in their system and those who do not use. Studies from different organizations and other professionals have been on the application of BIM in various categories of construction. The approach in this study looks at the collection of various information and project phases involved in construction to address questions. BIM empowers facility managers in informed decision-making processes. This paper summarizes the different areas of use of BIM by Facility managers and identifies the difficulties where BIM application is not in use. Facility managers can utilize BIM as a distinctive origin of input that is required to be converted into viable particulars to streamline the typical design process. BIM numbers are required to enable value exchange with similar source-specific information. Societal and behavioral features, as well as soft services, should be consolidated into the BIM ware. However, there is still debate about the application of intended BIM by Facility managers in the construction sector. To put it another way, BIM in construction does not fully facilitate the Facility managers. There are also concerns about interoperability and data exchange. Information quality is linked to various IQ ideas. It is determined that BIM-based processes have the potential to change not only the vision of the construction industry, but also the sector as a whole, as they are based on a collaborative approach in the delivery of various services. Operational cost, lesser time, decision-making process, collaboration and work resilience and improved information, thus stating a better and well-phased development in the whole construction process. This research identifies to authenticate the sourced list of Facility managers who use BIM for Construction as well as look into the similar acquiring of the usage along with their obtained merit and adversity.
