Abstract
Water scarcity is one of the most severe issues worldwide due to population expansion, anthropogenic activities, and their social and economic development. With the growing global population and pollution of water, the challenges in management of wastewater are the major threat in the upcoming future. These challenges are required to be addressed through conventional and advanced approaches in the treatment of wastewater and making it reusable for drinking and other purposes. Rainwater management, residential wastewater management, domestic wastewater management, industrial wastewater management, and wastewater reuse are the different technological aspects in treatment of wastewater and its advisable utilization. This chapter discusses the strategies from a technical standpoint, with additional highlights on the societal issues.
