Abstract
Digital technologies and methods have brought about an all-around and whole-process transformation in the landscape architecture industry. Digital landscape methods and technologies can be effectively used in different scales and types of landscape environments. Digital landscape architecture and related technologies largely cover the whole process of landscape architecture planning and design. The process includes preliminary environmental investigation, cognition, and evaluation. It also includes the study and analysis of the site's ecological sensitivity and construction suitability. In addition, the generation, comparison, simulation and optimization of design plans, as well as measurement and control during and after construction are included. Digital technology can greatly improve the accuracy and efficiency of planning and design in such a process. In addition, due to the adoption of a binary data stream, different steps and processes of planning and design can be connected more efficiently. The errors arising from the connection between various steps of design can be reduced.
