Abstract
Different from two-level converter, each arm of MMC is composed of dozens to hundreds of identical submodules (SM) and multilevel output voltage can be formed by the switching cooperation of SMs. Due to the particular topology of the MMC main circuit, the arm current, capacitor voltage, and modulation signal contain DC, fundamental, second, and other harmonic components.
