Abstract
There is no one-size-fits-all answer to successful ageing or healthy ageing. How an individual, the community members and the government understand and interpret the concept of successful ageing or healthy ageing may vary among cities or countries. Besides, how the government in a city or a country develops its successful ageing or healthy ageing framework very much depends on the political, economic, social, cultural and historical context. Nevertheless, achieving successful ageing or healthy ageing should be able to add years to one’s life as well as add life to one’s years. This chapter provides an update on policies implemented by the government to achieve active ageing and suggests ways to achieve healthy ageing in Singapore.
