Smart Learning Solutions for Sustainable Societies

Abstract

Public Higher Education assumes itself as an essential asset for the development of any Nation. Equally, this is part of the crucial elements of the global education system, which must be flexible, diverse, effective, and in tune with the needs and demands of society and the knowledge economy. The objective of the study is limited to the assessment of Quality and Social Responsibility in Public Higher Education Institutions (IESP) of the IV Academic Region of Angola. 640 individuals participated in the study (n = 62 teachers, n = 447 students and n = 131 employees). It is concluded that in the field of Social Responsibility of the IESP, the dimension of “Research” was the best evaluated and “Structures” the least considered by the respondents. In turn, it was found that teachers identify significantly more with this dimension (Social Responsibility) in the IESP where they teach and investigate than employees or students of these same institutions. In this framework we propose some considerations and recommendations for improvement of the evaluation system and quality of education, having as a central base the use of digital platforms of null environmental impact in the framework of a sustainable development arising from the mechanisms and resources used.
