Abstract
The COVID-19 pandemic has inexplicably altered global society, raising concerns about shifts in social, economic, and political patterns in the so-called “new normal”. The emergence of new challenges has placed pressure on all facets of human society, hindering a return to “business as usual”. Given the transnational nature of many of these challenges, regional cooperation has naturally gained significance. This chapter offers a brief glimpse into the study of regionalism, along with the cooperation between ASEAN and the European Union. Additionally, it presents an overview of the chapters featured in the book.
