Zusammenfassung
Kapitel 5 versucht, Trends in der durchschnittlichen Landtemperatur aufgrund von CO2-Emissionen aus nicht erneuerbaren Energiequellen wie „Kohle“, „Öl“, „Erdgas“ und „Abfackelung“ vorherzusagen. Das Kapitel veranschaulicht den schrittweisen Prozess der Zeitreihenanalyse, der zur Vorhersage von Temperaturwerten verwendet wird. Vorhersagen mithilfe eines maschinellen Lernmodells zeigen, dass, wenn keine signifikanten und sofortigen Maßnahmen umgesetzt werden, die Emissionen aus diesen Energiequellen bei der aktuellen Rate von Verbrauch und Produktion in naher Zukunft weiter steigen werden. Die Ergebnisse deuten darauf hin, dass die durchschnittliche Landtemperatur in Indien in den kommenden Jahren voraussichtlich um 0,2 °C steigen wird.
