Important Considerations for ASIC Designs

  • Chapter
  • First Online:
ASIC Design and Synthesis

Abstract

The synchronous sequential circuits uses the common clock source of the desired frequency. The ASIC design may have single or multiple clock domains and may need multiple clocking sources in the ASIC chip. The main objective of the design team is to have the efficient floor plan and use of the synchronizers to improve the communication and to have the data integrity. The chapter discusses about these techniques which are useful during the ASIC design architectures and micro-architectures.

ASIC is Application-Specific Integrated Circuits. The understanding of the important design considerations plays an important role during design phase!
