Abstract
The science learning area of the New Zealand Curriculum and Pūtaiao i roto i te Marautanga o Aotearoa (Ministry of Education, 2007a, b) requires students to learn about ‘features of scientific knowledge and the processes by which it is developed’ (p. 28), and to carry out science investigations using a variety of approaches. The overall aim of this project was to support teachers as they taught Pūtaiao/Science and engaged students in science investigation to find out what students learnt from it.
