Abstract

This research paper is about finding the new tools or materials in making batik which is using nature resources as tools. This research will expose the combination of both practice studio-based and historical research-type methods. Based on the explorations, the finding lines which can be a new creation in textile design. The outcome from this research purposely will be implemented in the textile industry as a new methodology of batik design. The exploration also shall be a guideline to batik makers and at the same time also can be implemented as a learning process in academic institutions.
