Abstract

I would like to congratulate the establishment of Peking University Institute for Global Health and Development (PKU-iGHD).The PKU-iGHD establishment is highly timely. Right now the COVID-19 pandemic is not yet over. Its impact is much more than just in the health arena.

Ren Minghui Assistant Director-General of WHO and Assistant Director-General for Universal Health Coverage/Communicable and Noncommunicable Diseases at WHO headquarters.

This article is based on Ren Minghui's remarks at the launching ceremony of Institute for Global Health and Development, Peking University and the Beijing Forum 2020.
