Abstract

Fashion is about experimentation and the desire to change Zeitgeist for each new era. Designer’s creativity is driven by new technologies to find innovative and unimagined ways and connections with a combination of materials, techniques, and ideas. The chapter includes examples of some smart materials utilization for design purposes. These materials were developed at the Technical University of Liberec (TUL), Czech Republic. These examples serve as potential tips for designers for their innovative thinking and transforming fashion design practice into the creative process which reacts to an actual situation like climate change, political situation, and science. Trend makers for the new era of fashion of tomorrow’s wardrobe can also be inspired.
