Abstract
This chapter explains ergonomic issues in thermoregulation in the body while wearing clothing and other accessories. Principles behind CLO value, thermal comfort, and homologous models are discussed in an easy-to-understand language. While discussing human body shape modeling, the concept of homologous modeling is introduced and its relevance to fashion design specially anthropometry and fit is discussed. This chapter gives a walkthrough to the readers in different domain of fashion ergonomics. Domains which are touched upon are medicine, sports, etc. In this chapter, applications of ergonomic principles in the design of work wear for different professions like surgeons, physicians, and healthcare workers are discussed. Ergonomic issues in the design of sportswear like jersey, pants, shoes, etc., are discussed focusing on the aspects of enhancing performance and providing protection to the body.
