Abstract

Disorders of the plasma cells and lymphoid progenitor cells will involve the bone marrow as well as lymphoid tissues. PET/CT utilizing 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) is suitable for detection of both intramedullary and extramedullary diseases due to the capability of the FDG PET/CT to survey the whole body and the high FDG uptake demonstrated by most of the aggressive tumors.
