Error Notification Management for Synchronization of ES10b Interface in RPM

Abstract

Remote profile management is a feature of eSIM for consumer solution that allows mobile network operators to perform profile management functions on their profiles remotely. RPM commands are carried out through the ES10 interface, between the RSP server and the eSIM. Currently, a report, referred to as notification, is generated by the eSIM to the RSP server indicating that the profile management operation was successfully performed in the eSIM. The main objective of this paper is to address the failure scenarios of RPM commands. Definition and characterization of these notifications allow the eSIM to generate notifications in error scenarios. These error notifications help maintain synchronization between the RSP server and the actual state of the eSIM. This eventually aides the RSP server to reinitiate the command to complete the operation.
