Abstract

The machine tool often has many sideways, and their accuracies directly affect the load capacity, quality, and efficiency of manufacturing processes. Slideway wears directly affects the quality of workpieces. The medium-sized universal lathe 1K62 is used quite commonly in Vietnam. The wear of the slideway causes errors in the geometry of the workpiece, especially the workpieces with a large length/diameter (L/d). This paper presents a method to accurately determine the remaining geometry of a medium-sized universal lathe when the slideways are worn. The results determine the accuracy of the remaining geometry of the 1K62 medium-sized universal Lathe when turning workpieces with different diameters. At the same time, it is also the basis for continuing to process workpieces of the right size and choosing the time to repair and upgrade the machine.
