Abstract

The present study demonstrates a gap analysis (in response to the COVID-19 pandemic) of the best known widely used green building certification and rating systems (GBC&RSs): LEED, WELL, BREEAM, CASBEE. These systems have been analyzed for their missing responses according to a list of selected pandemic-sustainable indicators. The gap levels for each system have been calculated and then compared to each other. Among four GBC&RSs, BREEAM exhibited the smallest gap score, whereas LEED and WELL held the largest gap scores. Following these results, we suggest courses of action for each system to remove the gaps that will result in achieving a better response under pandemic conditions.
