Abstract

The vehicular ad hoc network is an innovative technology that can help cities become smarter by deploying an intelligent transportation infrastructure. It enables the vehicles to exchange large-scale data with other neighboring vehicles in the network. There are a number of variables that influence communication. And one of the most important considerations for the efficient implementation of numerous applications in vehicular ad hoc networks is security. The proposed trust offloading in vehicular cloud network (TOVCN) trust model addressed security problems in vehicular cloud networks which outperform other schemes examined in the paper. The proposed trust model employs the offloading idea, in which nodes send recorded stats to the cloud after each interaction with other nodes, reducing the risk of false reports by adversary nodes and finally trust updation done on the cloud. Our results indicate the performance improvements in various aspects including success ratio, trust dynamics of trusted, and adversary nodes in the network.
