Human Resource Practices and Employee Performance in Indian IT Industry: An Empirical Study of Selected IT Companies

Abstract

Human resource practices plays a huge role in the long-term survival of organizations. Organizations have started to realize the importance of innovative human resource practices for employees as well as organizational well-being. The IT sector of India has always been the torch-bearer of creative and innovative thinking. Therefore, the present study aims to explore the relationship between selected human resource practices and the performance of employees in the selected IT giants of India. Descriptive and inferential statistics have been used to analyze the data collected from 375 participants. The study found that human resource practices especially contemporary practices and compensation have a significant impact on in-role and extra-role performance of the employees.
