Abstract
Docking a ship refers to putting her in a graving dock (drydock), floating dock or slipway. Drydocking of a ship refers to putting her in a drydock (graving dock) only. The drydocking time may be defined as the number of days of stay in a drydock, i.e., days between dock-in and dock-out. Drydocking a ship is a routine activity that occurs regularly required by the Classification Society’s rules, flag administrations’, and statutory bodies’ requirements.
