Abstract

In this chapter, an extraordinary proposition of using rate-of-switching to embody information is suggested. This is a step further into the time-oriented paradigm since it digs deeper into the time regime for more capacity. The elucidation starts with the interpretation of five structural levels that are used to describe electronic system. The proposed ideology is then elaborated with a focus on the levels of state variable and data representation. It is explained that this is an eccentric idea since it switches the roles of voltage and time that are used to describe the electrical signal. It is argued that this approach can lead to a higher efficiency in signal processing. In the end, three technical challenges are discussed for this approach to be feasible.
