Abstract
As the years passed, the percentage of usage of natural resources is reached to peak level due to which the quantity of pollutants leads to the over pollution as well as global warming in the earth atmosphere. There are only few reigns which provide petrol resources and the importing of such natural resources results in the arise of its value. New methodologies have been validated by various researchers across the globe to turn down the excessive exploitation of natural resources. Biofuels work as substitution to natural resources; these resources can be in different varieties as liquid or gas synthesized from source of biomass. Biofuels can be operated separately in diesel engines or combined with petrol. Biofuels are categorized in three varieties of biodiesel. In the first generation, biofuel is ethanol which is developed from sugar. Wheat, corn, and barley come under same category. The second-generation biofuel is synthesized from lignocellulosic biomass such as grass, straw, and wood. The algae oil comes under the third generation which has been produced from varieties of feedstock materials from algal biomass. Different oil extraction and biodiesel making tools and mechanisms influencing the physicochemical properties of jatropha oil and biodiesel were significantly researched. Present paper deals with the review of the past reports in view of the sustainability of jatropha biodiesel with respect to Indian Context.
