Abstract

The global widespread caused by the newly discovered Corona Virus Disease abbreviated as COVID-19 has impacted India and the other countries adversely. All the socio-economic activities have come to a halt affecting huge sectors including Agricultural, Textile, Automotive, Aviation, and so on. This widespread has triggered a worldwide recession with a heavy reduction in the growth of the country. The economy of the country could shrink by almost 1% in 2020 which is a huge loss for the country. Power sector is adversely affected during these hard times because of complete shutdown of industries and other huge sectors. So, the ebb and flow in the power sector need to be analyzed to maintain the balance between the cost and demand for power. This paper provides insights from the project implementer’s point of view on the certain impact of this pandemic on the Indian Power Sector and also presents the need for resilient power system network in India.
