Abstract
Dermoscopy is the most widely used non-invasive technique for the examination of skin diseases. It is essentially a skin microscope that can magnify tens of times and observe the subtle structure of the lesion by filtering polarized light and optical amplification. Using dermoscopy, the examiner can visualize the fine contour and color of the surface of the lesion that is not visible to the naked eye (Fig. 3.1). Studies have shown that dermoscopy can be used as a method for preoperative assessment of the margin of basal cell carcinoma (BCC), which can significantly increase the rate of complete resection.
