Abstract

The Chinese civilization in a broad sense refers to the civilization system centering on the Yellow River Basin and the Yangtze River Basin and is the result of the gradual integration of several regional civilizations. Specifically, these regional civilizations in a chronological order include the Peiligang period (9,000–7,000 years ago), Hougang period (7,000–6,000 years ago), Miaodigou period (6,000–5,300 years ago), Liangzhu period (5,300–4,300 years ago) and Longshan period (4,300–3,800 years ago).
