Abstract

This chapter includes (1) BA fenestration and arterial ring, (2) Proximal BA partial duplication, (3) Partial duplication of the distal BA (Caudal fusion of BA), and (4) BA complete duplication. Various forms of fusion failure of the primitive longitudinal arteries result in BA variations. There are 12 figures.

Fenestrations frequently occur in the vertebrobasilar system, especially at the proximal segment of the BA. An aneurysms occurs at the proximal end of the fenestration, but it is extremely rarely seen.
