Abstract
Choosing the right research methodology is fundamental to obtain accurate results of the study. The research design carries an important influence in selecting the appropriate research method in the study. An understanding of the research process from initiation of a research idea, thorough literature search, and formulation of a research question, proper study design, and conduction of research allows the researcher to adopt the research design of the study. The present study used triangulation techniques methodology which combined quantitative and qualitative approaches. The triangulation design was used to validate, confirm or corroborate the results findings. The data collected are divided into three stages, including literature review, field building survey for school buildings, analysis for archived documentation and followed by semi-structured interview of 12 professional building surveyors and engineers. Findings results both quantitative and qualitative are further analysed using statistic software Statistical Package for the Social Science (SPSS). The findings and analysis were described in the next chapter.
