Abstract
This chapter gives a detailed description of the tracking of boundaries in a binary image because the case of a binary image is the simplest one, and it can serve as a basis for the cases of indexed and color images. The chapter describes the rules for defining the direction of the next step depending on the colors (black or white) of the two pixels in front of the movement along the boundary. The Sect.3.1 contains the full subscription of algorithms “SearchBin” and “TraceBin”.
