Abstract
Chapter 4 includes the important contents about the sampling procedure of endometrial cytology for gynaecologists. The indications for the use of directly sampled endometrial cytology is extremely important. The techniques of endometrial sampling have improved over time. Techniques of endometrial sampling and processing are very simple and easy. The gynaecologists need to know the benefits and the harm of directly sampled endometrial cytology. The technique to directly obtain endometrial cytology samples has three major advantages for patients and gynaecologists. One is that the lower procedure-associated pain in endometrial cytology compared to endometrial biopsy reduces the levels of stress for patients and gynaecologists. The second advantage is that directly sampled endometrial cytology using a brush is less invasive towards the endometrial mucosa than endometrial histology using curettage. The third advantage is that the technique is extremely simple, and the time to obtain endometrial cells is very short.
